Quotes

“You have to go out there and create. Whether that means writing, taking photos, taking videos or drawing. Whatever it is that you really feel passionate about, there is no excuse, as many as we can come up with, for not creating.” - Mark Fleming, founder and creative director at Lone Spruce Creative

“Our passion projects have led to a lot of our paid work. Just going out and creating what you want gets you clients who then want that same kind of work, as opposed to doing a lot of work that you don't want to do. I think creating stuff that you're interested in is going to help you get more jobs that you're interested in.” - Kevin Sennett, director of photography and production lead at Lone Spruce Creative

About the guests:

Mark Fleming is the founder and creative director at Lone Spruce Creative. Kevin Sennett is the director of photography and production lead at Lone Spruce Creative.

Mark and Kevin run a media production house out of a renovated mill in Biddeford. Their clients include Colby College, the Maine Office of Tourism, Luke's Lobster, Maine Spirits, Harvard Business School and Bangor Savings Bank.

They specialize in creating intimate visual content that allows brands to tell their story in an authentic and engaging way. Coming from a journalism background, their process has always centered on putting the story first, then creating dynamic visuals that push the narrative forward.

Both Mark and Kevin are Mainers who, after having spent time in Boston fresh out of college, moved back to Maine to pursue their careers in media. Having first met chasing race cars on the dusty roads of the Maine Forest Rally, they have been friends for over a decade. Kevin lives in Yarmouth with his wife, Nico, and their two-year-old daughter Everly. Mark lives in Biddeford with his wife, Jennifer, and their rambunctious pit bull, Bella.
